Houses - of the live-in variety

And now, almost exactly three years since demolition started, houses are back at the school site. But not Gwynedd, Powys, Dyfed or Gwent! These are homes to live in, built by Persimmon on an estate which has been called Dôl Afon (River Dale) - no, I don't either! Work started in late Autumn 2005, and was still ongoing the Chevron Street side of the site in April 2007. Prices ranged from £160,00 for three-bedroomed houses, and from £197,000 for four bedrooms.

If it was demolition, demolition, demolition when the school was removed from the landscape, it wasn't only the housing estate that was going up in the town. The floor of the valley in the area was a hive of activity as the final touches to the new by-pass road were made, including the bow arch bridge which has received a decidedly mixed reception.
